Duga Film

Andreas Mortensen and Johan Valentin Falklind founded Duga Film in 2018, after a multiple year-long artistic collaboration, starting with their time as classmates at Munkebäcksgymnasiet in Gothenburg, Sweden. The name Duga came from an idea Andreas had in 2006, when he wanted to "make a film named Duga" based on the Swedish idiom.

Since its foundation, Duga Film has focused on emotionally driven short form stories, with a large engagement from film workers in western Sweden, and is, since 2026, owned by Andreas Mortensen.

Andreas Mortensen (b.1994) is an internationally acclaimed and award-winning filmmaker from Gothenburg, Sweden, and screenwriter with a degree from YRGO Higher Vocational School 2021. Since its foundation, he has written and directed every project produced by Duga Film, and is since 2026 the company's sole owner.

His films have notably been acclaimed for their conceptual uniqueness and cross-genre direction. Winner of, among others, one of the UK's largest screenwriting competitions, with over 2 000 competitors, and of dozens of festival awards world-wide. The most recent produced short film, The Face, for which he's the director, writer, editor, producer and composer, is Duga Film's first traditionally distributed work, with streaming premiere in 2026. Just months after The Face's premiere in October 2025 his new film Tystnad, premiered in Gothenburg.

Andreas' latest film in development is a satirical portrayal of Sweden's video violence debate in the 80's.

Johan Valentin Falklind

Johan Valentin Falklind (b.1996) is a cinematographer, editor and producer, based in Gothenburg and Amsterdam. Since 2013 he's shot countless short films, commercials, music videos and documentaries, as well as worked as assistant camera and second-unit photographer on features such as The UnthinkableKnocking and UFO Sweden.

His work is characterized by a close cooperation with each part of the production, and by a strongly driven commitment to the projects he takes upon. It's not rare that both script and directorial vision is developed along side Johan and his focus on shaping the cinematography for the purpose of the story. He has since its foundation been driving producer in each of Duga Film's productions, and his experience as both cinematographer and producer has made an impact in the Swedish film business for over ten years.

Since 2020, Johan has been director of photography, lead editor and one of three core members of the team making the nature documentary series Kingdom of Fish, whose photagraphy has been hailed around the world, notably by the BBC. The third season is in production, in which Johan's scene direction and visual ethos is crucial for the series' execution.
